Contract: 24 months with potential for direct hire
Compensation: $62.67/hour ... rate could vary based on experience

Clearance Requirement: Active DoD Secret clearance required at time of hire (U.S. citizenship mandatory) Overview Our client, a leading DoD aerospace and defense contractor, is seeking an Advanced DSP Software Engineer to join their mission-critical undersea systems team in Manassas, VA. In this role, you’ll design, implement, and optimize cutting-edge DSP algorithms and embedded software for undersea sensor applications that directly support U.S. naval operations and national security. Applicants must hold an active DoD Secret clearance and be U.S. citizens, with eligibility for access to classified information. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize advanced DSP algorithms for undersea sensor and sonar systems. Collaborate with hardware and embedded software teams to integrate DSP solutions into ruggedized undersea environments. Conduct performance analysis and algorithm optimization to ensure reliable operation in real-world maritime conditions. Develop technical documentation for algorithms, software, and system-level implementations. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior DSP engineers. Stay current with advancements in DSP, undersea acoustics, and emerging technologies. Participate in design/code reviews and system-level testing to ensure compliance with DoD quality standards. Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve issues in deployed DSP software and undersea systems. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. 5+ years of experience in DSP software development. Active DoD Secret clearance at time of hire. Proficiency in C/C++ programming and embedded software design. Demonstrated experience in DSP algorithm development and optimization. Familiarity with DSP hardware platforms and real-time architectures. Strong foundation in signal processing theory and techniques. Experience using MATLAB (or equivalent tools) for modeling and simulation. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Background in real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded system integration. Experience supporting submarine or surface ship sonar systems. Knowledge of underwater acoustics and sonar processing. Familiarity with machine learning/artificial intelligence techniques for signal analysis. Exposure to oceanographic data analysis and modeling.
