Role Overview: The Travel RN provides high-quality patient care in a long-term acute care (LTAC) setting, ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, while promoting a safe and efficient work environment. Key Responsibilities: Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission; develop individualized plans of care
Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide education to patients and families
Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from day of admission
Communicate changes in patient status and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
Provide direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel
Promote personal and environmental safety following hospital policies
Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses
Assume charge responsibility as requested and prioritize tasks to optimize patient care
Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study
Safety & Quality Commitment: Maintain a focus on patient and employee safety in all areas including safe patient handling, materials handling, infection control, and workplace hazards
Foster a positive, team-oriented environment and adhere to hospital guidelines regarding attendance, punctuality, and professional appearance
