Responsibilities
- As a Senior Software Engineer, drive the technical direction of our offerings and solutions, working with many different technologies across the sponsored products organization.
- Design, code, troubleshoot, and support scalable services, machine-learning pipelines and online serving systems that handle millions of requests per day with millisecond response latencies and high operational standards.
- Work closely with product employees and applied scientists to optimize the performance of machine-learning models and infrastructure, and implement end-to-end solutions.
- Own what you create and mentor junior engineers, guiding them to deliver to their full potential.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming experience in at least one programming language
- 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability and scaling)
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on factors including market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company; depending on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total package along with a full range of benefits.
