Overview
Amazon is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) to join the Amazon Photos Finance team. Amazon Photos empowers consumers to preserve and relive their cherished memories. As part of this mission, our service offers unlimited photo storage for Prime members and is accessible through iOS, Android, Web, Desktop, Fire Tablet, and Fire TV. Integrated with Alexa-enabled devices like the Echo Show and Echo Spot, Amazon Photos aims to scale growth and adoption worldwide while delivering a great product.
The core of Amazon Photo’s Finance is to build financial models for new and ambiguous business opportunities and to clearly articulate the mechanics, risks, opportunities, and tradeoffs to business partners. The role provides end-to-end financial support for major investments across categories including new device hardware investments, software services, monetization initiatives, and cost controllership. The SFA will support dedicated verticals within the Amazon Photo’s business with opportunities to work with experienced leaders and teams worldwide.
The successful candidate will have experience influencing business partners and supporting decision making in rapidly evolving environments. The candidate uses data in decision-making frameworks and is eager to learn new models while enacting change across the business. The role requires a self-starter with the ability to be both strategic and analytical, with high expectations and room for growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead sales and marketing analysis efforts, providing data-driven insights on revenue performance, customer trends, and marketing effectiveness to drive strategic decision-making and growth.
- Support the core financial processes for the business, including: annual operating plan, three-year strategic plan, monthly and quarterly business reviews.
- Create, improve and maintain financial models to promote efficient use of resources.
- Perform financial reporting, ad-hoc project analysis and financial modeling for a variety of business initiatives and new business models.
- Lead customer analysis efforts to uncover key insights on behavior, retention, and lifetime value.
- Conduct comprehensive cost-benefit analysis; identifying and communicating key drivers to support investment decisions.
- Educate business partners on financial and non-financial trade-offs, and support them in making judgments in ambiguous environments with scarce data.
- Communicate information/data clearly and tailor the financial story to different audiences to facilitate informed decisions.
- Manage competing priorities, communicate status updates, and drive projects to completion.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- 3+ years of tax, finance or related analytical field experience
- Experience in financial modeling, P&L management or analysis
- Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or CPA
- 3+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making
- Demonstrated financial/analytical experience including forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and data interpretation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
