Job Title: Forklift Operator PM Shift: 14:5pm-10pm Wage: $22.50 + $1 Shift Differential Job Summary/Job Duties: The WH Forklift operator is responsible for receiving, storing, picking and distributing material and products within establishment. They read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. They transport materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas. They sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code. They fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, or other stock items and distribute items to production areas. They assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets. They mark materials with identifying information. They open bales, crates, and other containers. They record amounts of materials or items received or distributed. They weigh or count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards. They are certified to drive material handling equipment. They transport stored items within the warehouse. They load and unload trailers of palletized and non-palletized product. They utilize manual and automated material handling equipment. They practice and adhere to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe housekeeping and personal protection. They keep work areas clean and remove trash from work area floors. They store supplies in designated areas. They keep work area aisles/exits clear and free from obstructions. They follow instructions for safe lifting/carrying of various sizes, shapes, and weights; identify/report defective equipment. They report all job-related injuries to supervision. They take photos of incoming or outgoing load and log items and pictures for documentation. They use computers to enter records. Where applicable, they climb and work at the heights of material tanks. They may climb on top or into tank trailers to check seals and take samples. They may prepare and take a cycle count inventory of all merchandise; record counts on cycle count sheets. Mandatory overtime may be required. They support and participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives including 5S (sort, set, shine, standardize, and sustain). They may perform other duties as required. Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED and/or 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment required. Previous experience with Oracle or similar based WMS system; a minimum of 1 year experience in a warehouse position; previous forklift experience is preferred.
