Overview

Administrative Assistant — Anoka County Sheriff's Office (ACSO). This is a full-time, non-exempt position that will work onsite at the Anoka County Sheriff's Office (13301 Hanson Blvd NW, Andover). Salary range: $48,006 to $56,409 per year ($23.08 to $27.12 per hour); pay may vary by experience, education, and qualifications. This position follows the mission: "To protect and serve the community in a manner that preserves the public trust." The position includes advancement opportunities and a strong work-life balance, with 24 days paid flexible time off and up to 12.5 paid holidays in the first year. Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical and administrative support for the department. Deliver customer service while answering phones, assisting walk-in guests, and reserving facilities.
  • Perform office administration and operations activities such as maintaining physical and electronic files, tracking personnel, handling billing, account maintenance, and verifying purchases.
  • Prepare and log regularly recurring data for department reports and documents.
  • Receive, store, maintain, and order office supplies inventory. Track orders and investigate problems.
  • Create and edit written communication including letters, reports, and presentations. Enter data into systems as needed.
  • Act as a liaison and point of contact for employees, the department, and the public.
  • Translate concerns and information requests into clear responses and elevate issues as needed.
  • Compile and coordinate materials for meetings for multiple leadership levels of the organization.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum: High school diploma and at least 2 years of job-related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
  • Preferred: Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate workflows; general understanding of office procedures; strong written and verbal communication; proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to obtain within six months of hire the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) and Criminal Justice Information (CJIS) certification.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions

  • Standard office environment. Vision and hearing requirements for computer use and communication.
  • Assignments are sedentary, with occasional standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling as needed. Frequent wrist and finger manipulation for computer work. Occasional lifting of 10-20 lbs. Travel to other county work sites may be required; travel may involve driving county or personal vehicles.
