Jacobs is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join our Airports/ Aviation Infrastructure team in Cary, North Carolina, working on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients' challenges locally and worldwide.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our team and be involved in large-scale airport infrastructure projects and utilize your civil engineering expertise. You will solve a range of complex problems and analyze possible solutions using standard procedures.

Project opportunities are primarily airport-related, including but not limited to aviation related facilities including Taxiways, Runways, Aprons, Airfield systems, access control, and the design and construction of aviation infrastructure. You'll work with the best Engineers and Project Managers in the business, as well as gain experience working directly with our clients. We want you to be empowered to deliver the boldest solutions for modern aviation infrastructure.

Your responsibilities will include:

Assist in the design of airfield pavements, including runways, taxiways, and aprons

Support the development of airport terminal area plans and landside facilities

Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and design documentation for aviation projects

Participate in site visits to assess existing airport conditions and collect data for project planning

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program

Coursework related to transportation engineering and airport planning

Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and ArcGIS

Ideally, you will also have:

Familiarity with FAA design standards and regulations

Previous internship with an airport authority or engineering consultant focused on aviation projects

Engineer In Training (EIT) Certificate or ability to obtain within 6 months

Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future
