Job Description
Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Pupil Personnel Services, and in collaboration with the building-level administration, the successful candidate will be responsibile to perform the role of Chairperson of the Section 504 Committee, and case management for 504 students, grades K-5. The candidate will also help to support behavior needs through consultation with staff one day per week, and will conduct psycho educational reevaluations (if a certified school psychologist).
Minimum Qualifications
:
NYS Certification as a School Psychologist, Special Education Teacher or Speech/Language Pathologist Experience chairing the Section 504 Committee
Primary Activities
Chairperson for Section 504 meetings, grades K-5. Case Management for 504 students, grades K-5. Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, as required by district procedures and applicable laws. If certified as a school psychologist, conduct psycho educational reevaluations. Note:

Knowledge of Federal Regulations in the area of Special Education and Section 504. Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students. Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed. Ability to organize and coordinate work. Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents. Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee:
is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit. Is regularly required to climb, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and to reach above the head and reach forward. Is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls and to talk and hear. At times, required to work at a height of 20' or more off the ground in order to perform job duties. Occasionally required to lift and/or push up to 75 pounds. Must have specific vision abilities for close vision, distance vision, depth perception and tell the difference between colors
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is typical for a school environment. The manager continuously interacts with the public and other staff and frequently meets multiple demands from several people. Work generally performed indoors.
