Job Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description
The Maintenance Technician will be a vital member of the powertrain team, contributing to the achievement of essential results. This role demands a strong knowledge of troubleshooting preventive maintenance (PM) and electrical systems, along with the ability to develop strategies to meet team and company goals. The technician will report to various supervisors and managers within the production organization and must possess a working knowledge of standard automotive OEM process equipment and related systems. This position requires a proactive problem-solver who can communicate effectively while executing daily activities.
Responsibilities
Perform maintenance of process equipment in various shops depending on the department.
Conduct preventive maintenance on all types of production equipment.
Accurately document all preventive maintenance activities performed.
Collaborate with the maintenance planner to learn and utilize the CMMS system.
Troubleshoot and repair complex problems on production equipment.
Repair and/or replace defective parts.
Support the installation of new equipment.
Fabricate parts for plant and/or production equipment.
Enforce and follow all safety rules and regulations.
Carry out other responsibilities as needed.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in automation, electrical, troubleshooting, and mechanical systems.
Experience with maintenance technician duties, multimeter usage, and welding techniques such as TIG, stick, and MIG.
Ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical issues involving shafts, motors, chains, conveyor systems, and PLC systems.
Skill in troubleshooting robots and automated equipment.
Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic control systems, including the operation of cylinders and valves.
Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with diagnostics tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Understanding of electrical control systems and PLC logic controls (Rockwell/Siemens/etc.).
Familiarity with shafts, motors, chains, and various conveyor-related equipment.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Ability to operate mobile equipment, including forklifts and other powered industrial trucks.
Valid US driver's license and a clean driving record.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Work Environment
The position follows an A Crew schedule (days) from Sunday to Wednesday, 5:00 AM - 5:30 PM, with 12-hour shifts including a 30-minute lunch break. The job requires physical activity, including standing, stooping, walking, and lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds. Work hours range from 40-48 hours per week, with shifts covering four days a week.
