This position is vital in supporting a leading chemical and environmental manufacturing company, requiring your presence on-site in Moses Lake, Washington, Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Chemical Safety and Compliance Specialist , you will be responsible for managing the creation, review, and approval of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and labels. Your expertise will ensure compliance with OSHA, GHS, TSCA, and other pertinent regulations. You will play a crucial role in supporting laboratory and industrial chemical hygiene, managing chemical registrations, and serving as a critical resource for the Hazard Communication team. RESPONSIBILITIES: Create and verify Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and labels while adhering to OSHA, GHS, TSCA, and international regulations. Manage the WERCS program to ensure accurate chemical registrations and documentation. Provide guidance and training on chemical hygiene and industrial health practices. Work collaboratively with lab staff, product managers, and external consultants to resolve compliance and labeling issues. Mentor team members, manage special projects, and serve as backup for corporate chemical hygiene oversight. Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and ISO standards while addressing inquiries and maintaining compliance with company policies. QUALIFICATIONS: Associate of Science Degree in Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field. A minimum of 2 years experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Certification and ability to interpret regulations for IMDG, IATA, DOT, OSHA, and GHS compliance. Strong knowledge of Chemistry and understanding of TSCA guidelines. Proficient in implementing OSHA standards.
