General Summary & Scope

The Seasonal Beauty Advisor (BA) is responsible for providing an exceptional experience for Ulta Beauty guests by engaging each guest to determine their needs, performing cashier tasks, keeping fixtures stocked with merchandise, maintaining store cleanliness, and completing tasks as assigned. The Seasonal Beauty Advisor supports the leadership team through a focus on performance, people, and process. This role requires a passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Performance

• Contribute to meeting or exceeding store goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omni-channel sales, and retail shrink as set by Ulta Beauty.
• Provide exceptional service by greeting and engaging guests, personalizing service, answering questions, informing guests about promotions, and recommending related products or services.
• Handle customer service, sales, refunds, exchanges, and assist with online orders.
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and guest experience.
• Book appointments and support in-store events to deliver an unrivaled guest experience while meeting sales goals.
• Stay informed about new and existing products and services, including ingredients and benefits, to better serve guests.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

People

• Contribute to an inclusive environment for teammates, guests, and colleagues.
• Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program with guests on the salesfloor and when prompted by Ulta Beauty systems.
• Collaborate with managers and associates to grow the business.
• Participate in ongoing training, including brand and category education, for professional development and sales performance.

Process

• Be knowledgeable of and comply with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
• Adhere to Ulta Beauty’s dress code.
• Drive sales by keeping work areas replenished, signed and faced, and ensuring testers are available.
• Maintain store cleanliness across all areas, including salesfloor, restrooms, cashwrap, backroom, and break area.
• Assist with merchandise resets, planograms, displays, inventory procedures, and shipments using Ulta Beauty systems.
• Protect company assets by following loss prevention practices and delivering exceptional guest service.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

Job Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma preferred

Experience

• 1 year of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

Skills

• Passion for guest service and selling
• Proficiency with basic technology (e.g., POS systems and Apple devices)
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Special Position Requirements

• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Working Conditions

• Continuous mobility throughout the store during shift
• Frequent standing, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs, and movement during shift
• Adverse weather not required; accommodations available if needed
