Purpose and Scope

The Warehouse Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our multiple warehouse facilities, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of warehouse personnel involved in shipping, receiving, and inventory control while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Provide training, guidance, and development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Effectively communicate company goals, policies, and procedures to the warehouse team.
  • ERP System Utilization: Validating freight invoices with matching PO; syncing with finance for cost tracking; understanding and working within credit limits and payment terms for customers; review inventory and finished stock amounts.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in effective inventory control; collaborate with the inventory team to conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accurate inventory records; coordinate with other departments to manage inventory turnover, parts pulling, and minimize obsolete stock.
  • Shipping and Receiving Operations: Oversee the receipt, inspection, and documentation of incoming shipments; coordinate internal and external schedule for outbound shipments, ensuring accurate order fulfillment for all locations; implement and optimize shipping and receiving process to enhance physical and digital efficiency and reduce lead times; plan, manage, and coordinate logistics, transportation, and customer service activities between multiple locations; collaborate with procurement, production, and sales teams to forecast demand and align logistics support; manage relationships and contracts with freight carriers, third-party logistics providers, and warehouse services; negotiating freight rates as needed; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to registration, transportation, and storage; optimize routing, transportation methods, and warehouse layout to reduce costs and improve service.
  • Operational Efficiency: Develop and implement efficient warehouse processes and workflows to maximize productivity; monitor and optimize the use of warehouse space to accommodate changing inventory needs; collaborate with other departments to streamline the supply chain and improve overall operational efficiency.
  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce and promote a safety-first culture within the warehouse, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations; conduct regular safety training sessions for warehouse staff; collaborate with relevant regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Quality Control: Implement and oversee quality control measures for incoming and outgoing products; address and resolve any quality issues in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Vendor and Carrier Relations: Collaborate with vendors to optimize shipping and receiving; manage relationships with carriers and logistics partners to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyze warehouse, shipping, and receiving performance reports, identifying areas for improvement; provide regular updates to senior management on KPIs related to warehouse, shipping, and receiving.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor\'s degree preferred but not required
  • Experience: Proven experience in warehouse management
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in a warehouse
  • Excellent organization and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems
