Overview

The Warehouse Worker provides warehouse services through safe, efficient, cost-effective and accurate handling of customer products and materials using manual labor, standard power equipment and computer equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Perform other safety-related duties as assigned.
  • Inspect products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Accept incoming shipments, verify contents, and unload materials using forklifts and/or pallet jacks.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and update inventory systems.
  • Assist with inventory functions, including cycle counts, physical inventory, and product checks to ensure accurate records and proper storage.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to customer specifications.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar position is required.
  • Preferred Experience: 2-3 years or experience in a similar position; experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment; forklift certification.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent (preferred).
  • Skills: Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklifts, power tools, RF scanners, etc.); ability to read, write, and communicate effectively; ability to perform basic math functions; basic computer skills for inventory management.

Work Conditions

  • Environmental conditions vary by season and operational needs, exposing workers to cold, heat, and humidity.
  • Majority of work is performed in an indoor industrial environment with concrete flooring. Infrequent outdoor exposure.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as steel toe boots, safety glasses, safety gloves, and others as required; protective sleeves may be required depending on location.
  • The workspace includes forklift and pedestrian traffic, requiring heightened awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals.
  • Occasional work at high heights using ladders or scissor lifts.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., standing and walking on concrete floors up to 10 hours per day, pushing or pulling up to 200 lbs., and bending, stooping or reaching. Manual dexterity, visual acuity, hearing and verbal communication are necessary to complete job tasks. Occasional sitting, climbing, kneeling or crouching, reaching overhead, and lifting over 50 lbs. may be required.
  • Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements (e.g., background, drug, etc.).
