Job Title: QA Engineer
Location: Montgomery, AL
Duration: 12+ Month Contract (possibility of converting to merit)
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite - No remote
Position Description The QA Engineer will work closely with IT project leads, technical leads, developers, and end users to design, plan, execute, and validate system testing prior to implementation. This includes identifying bugs through manual and automated testing to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute test scenarios, scripts, and procedures. Perform and manage various types of testing, including: Functional Testing Integration Testing Regression Testing Performance Testing Participate in design and requirements reviews. Develop test procedures and validation strategies, recommending improvements where needed. Work with development teams to reproduce, document, and resolve defects. Review requirements, specifications, and documentation to ensure quality deliverables. Adhere to established standards, procedures, and guidelines for consistent testing practices. Utilize Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) or Azure DevOps for: Test execution and reporting Defect management Software maturity metrics Provide detailed testing status, defect reports, and test summaries after each sprint. Report on the impact of changes to product definitions on the testing process. Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and deliver artifacts as directed by project leadership.
Skills Required
Strong experience with functional, regression, performance, and automated testing. Hands-on experience with SIT, End-to-End, and UAT testing. In-depth knowledge of web-based application testing. Ability to break down prioritized requirements into sprint-level tasks. Proficiency with Microsoft TFS or Azure DevOps for test management and defect tracking.
Skills Preferred
Experience with automation testing tools and frameworks.
Experience Required
Minimum of 4 years in software application testing.
Experience Preferred
Familiarity with State Government, Medicaid, CHIP, or DHR business processes, or healthcare industry testing.
Education Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
Education Preferred
Advanced education in a relevant field. Certification in Software Testing (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE, etc.).
