Position Overview:

The ideal consultant is a Solution or Enterprise Architect with an effective mix of On-Prem and Cloud Experience, strong manufacturing expertise, delivering solutions end-to-end, especially in operations, automation, IoT, Production or Quality, and enterprise systems like MES, ERP, PLM, and custom-built Platforms and Application Architectures.

Pay Rate:

$88.72/Hour.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineers, and IT teams to define solution requirements that align with manufacturing strategy. Design scalable, secure, and efficient solutions that integrate shop floor systems (such as Data Collection, MES, SCADA, Production, and Quality) with enterprise applications (including Reliability Insights, Connected Control Plan, and Quality). Lead solution design for smart factory initiatives, including IoT, data collection, visualization, analytics for assets and processes, and digital twin technologies. Evaluate and select suitable technologies, tools, and vendors for manufacturing systems. Ensure that solutions comply with enterprise architecture standards, cybersecurity protocols, and regulatory requirements, or establish new standards where necessary. Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout project lifecycles, from conceptual design to implementation, including participation in daily operations within a Solution Pillar and attendance at team ceremonies. Support process mapping, gap analysis, and system configuration with cross-functional teams. Create and maintain architectural documentation, such as system blueprints, data flow diagrams, integration patterns, and paved road creation. Identify and mitigate risks associated with solution design and delivery. Monitor advancements and developments in Industry 4.0, manufacturing technologies, and digital transformation.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (Master's preferred).

Experience:

10+ years of experience in IT, systems integration, or enterprise architecture roles. 5+ years of experience specifically in manufacturing or industrial automation environments.

Technical Skills:

Deep understanding of manufacturing operations and technologies (e.g., MES, SCADA, PLCs, HMI, DCS, and Networking). Understanding and Experience with Manufacturing Projects related to Quality and Production. Some Familiarity with ERP systems. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and edge computing, Kubernetes Containerization, streaming platforms like Kafka. Knowledge of data modeling, integration patterns (e.g., APIs, middleware, OPC-UA, MQTT) to (Time Series, SQL, Big Data and Data Lake connectivity). Cybersecurity awareness in OT/IT environments. Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies: IIoT, Network Connectivity and Cybersecurity, ISA 95 data structure, and the latest tools for Process Data Collection and Visualization.

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical, problem-solving and questioning skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities to Understand and assess changing business needs while considering the impact on both technology and business. Effectively articulate and communicate business alternatives to a variety of audiences across the business (Product Owners, Chief Product Owners) and ITx leadership (Technical Leads and Senior Management). Continual focus on new technologies, platforms, strategies, and solutions for the future based on technical and economic feasibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

PMP or Agile project management certifications. Specific AWS or Azure Solution Architecture Certifications TOGAF, ArchiMate, or other architecture frameworks. Certifications in MES or ERP platforms (e.g., SAP PP/ME, Rockwell, Siemens). If you have developed & deployed Quality and Process Data Collection from multiple sources to Machine Learning / AI models, Mobile application, notifications, and integrations. Lead regular reviews of the portfolio(s) to identify opportunities for improvement in the areas of stability, performance, and complexity reduction Hands-on Application Development experience.
