Qualifications

  • Operating front-end loader as primary job function: 2 years (required)
  • Mulch and/or soil production experience (preferred)
  • Valid Driver\'s License (required)
  • Hoisting License (required)

Required Skills

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience operating a front-end loader in a work environment.
  • Mulch and/or soil production experience necessary
  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks.
  • Good record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to work with limited direction.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Reliable transportation.

Equipment Operator

  • Must have front-end loader experience (example: Volvo 110 or larger) and experience with either a grinder, log loader, or excavator
  • This is not an entry-level position.
  • Applicants without the necessary experience will not be considered
  • All eligible applicants should expect to complete a skills demonstration as part of an interview

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate front-end loader in a safe and efficient manner to meet production needs and customer orders
  • Load outgoing trucks promptly and accurately
  • Feed grinders, hoppers, color machines, screeners, etc.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of daily production
  • Learn and Understand product mixes and quality standards
  • Perform daily inspections and upkeep of equipment
  • Perform basic maintenance on loaders and grinders
  • Maintain a clean machine inside and out
  • Understand and execute pile management practices
  • Communicate with customers and drivers via radio or in person clearly and professionally
  • Willingness to learn to operate additional machinery including forklifts, log loaders, etc.
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

  • Work 40+ hours per week
  • Work indoors & outdoors in varied temperature & weather conditions
  • Lift 50+lbs
