Summary
Assemble electrical mechanical equipment and other sub-assemblies, testing of powered suspended access equipment and accessories.
Responsibilities
- Complete the assembly of complex components-with little or no supervision.
- Complete the assembly of complex components according to measured cycle time.
- Complete the fit, function and testing of assembled components-under limited supervision.
- Properly utilize required hand tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks according to verbal and written work instructions.
- Troubleshoot, repair, reassemble and test assembled components-with limited supervision.
- Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn a range of assembly methods and tasks.
- Perform 5S daily and continuously work to improve the performance of the work cell.
- Perform any other tasks or duties as assigned or directed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Five or more years of electrical / mechanical assembly / installation or repair experience preferred.
- Know how to read and interpret moderately complex assembly drawings.
- Ability to read tape measures and similar measuring devices.
- Ability to read and understand written standard work instructions.
- Know how to read and interpret calibrated equipment used in assembly.
- Have good knowledge of the use of all tools (hand / powered) used in the assembly process.
- Self-motivated, quick learner and strong attention to detail.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand for continuous periods of time, walk, lift items up to 50 pounds, have clarity of vision, talk and hear. The employee is required to use the arms to reach and hands to finger, handle, or feel.
Work Environment
This position will work on the production floor alongside other manufacturing processes such as welding and metal fabrication. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
