About the job Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
NursePractitioner:
POSITIONSUMMARY: The Nurse Practitioner (NP), under the direction of the MedicalDirector/Supervising Physician and/or the Nurse Manager, is a Registered Nursewho possesses additional clinical and didactic education to function at anadvanced level of nursing practice. They will be clinically competent inphysical diagnosis, psychosocial assessment and management of health-illnessneeds to provide direct patient care and education to patients, families,students, and nursing staff. May act as a first assistant to the supervisingsurgeon if qualified and certified. The NP consistently demonstrates the corevalues of Enloe Medical Center and serves as a role model to otheremployees.
This is aclinic-based/shift work position
EDUCATION/ TRAINING / EXPERIENCE: Minimum: Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program
Desired: Masters prepared Recent experience in Urogynecology
LICENSES /CERTIFICATIONS: Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with the California Board ofRegistered Nursing Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner Furnisher with the California Boardof Registered Nursing Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number or proof of application Meets Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) criteria to billMedicare Current AHA-HCP CPR recognition Current ACLS recognition (within 6 months of hire) Credentialed through the Enloe Medical Staff office and Finance office Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) (if acting as a first assistant)
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE/ ABILITIES: Must have the confidence and experience to work independently with diversepatient populations and experience in accessing specialty referrals andcommunity resources. Physician Assistant:
POSITIONSUMMARY: The Physician Assistant (PA) provides and coordinates direct patient care andmay act as a first assistant to the supervising surgeon. The PA providesdiagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative healthcare service, as delegated by aphysician. The PA will report to the Female Pelvic Medicine and ReconstructiveSurgery Clinic leadership for all employee/employer issues regardingdepartmental and organizational operations. The PA consistently demonstratesthe core values of Enloe Medical Center and serves as a role model to otheremployees.
EDUCATION/ TRAINING / EXPERIENCE: Minimum: Graduate of a PA educational program accredited by the Accreditation ReviewCommission (ARC) on Education for Physician Assistants (or its predecessoragency) OR current certification with the National Commission on Certificationof Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Desired: One-year clinical experience as a Physician Assistant in an acute care facility Recent experience in specialty area Bilingual in Spanish desirable
