Assist customers and process sales while demonstrating the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Perform cashier functions, including opening/closing the register, ringing sales, completing tender transactions, bagging merchandise, making money drops, and knowing produce codes.
• Maintain the checkstand area to housekeeping standards.
• Answer telephones and comply with all corporate policies.
• Promote and follow company initiatives.
• Verify and deactivate Electronic Article Surveillance Tags at the point of sale and respond to activations.

Store Accounting

• Maintain store accounting functions and prepare bank deposits.

Customer Service Desk

• Open and close the desk, process refunds, exchanges, money orders, bill pay, gift cards, and other transactions.
• Provide lottery and license services, manage faxes, administer lost and found, and run vendor reports.

Qualifications

Minimum

• High school diploma or GED, or relevant experience.
• Six months cashier experience at a Customer Service Desk.
• Minimum age requirements vary by state (18-19 years).
• Ability to pass a drug test and work in a fast-paced environment, including weekends and overtime.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Desired

• Knowledge of company policies and related retail experience.
