Job Summary: As a Rooms Intern at Gurney’s Resorts in Montauk, NY, you’ll gain immersive, hands-on experience in both Front Office and Housekeeping operations. This role allows you to engage in guest-facing services, room quality control, and strategic operations—all under the mentorship of seasoned hospitality professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Front Office/Guest Services
Welcome guests warmly and assist with check-in/check-out procedures.
Answer inquiries about services, amenities, and local recommendations.
Handle guest requests promptly—both face-to-face and via phone—maintaining high satisfaction levels.
Resolve guest complaints effectively, seeking opportunities to personalize experiences and exceed expectations.
Housekeeping/Rooms Operations
Conduct inspections of guest rooms and ensure they meet resort standards for cleanliness and presentation.
Help organize cleaning schedules in response to occupancy patterns.
Assist with logistics of housekeeping operations, including quality control and coordination with staff.
Qualifications:
Current college or university student pursuing hospitality, hotel/restaurant management, or a related field.
Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and ability to thrive under pressure.
Friendly, outgoing personality with polished interpersonal and communication skills.
Eager to learn.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, typical in hospitality.
