Position Summary The Facilities Technician ensures the safe and optimal operation of critical mechanical systems, including water purification, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), and compounding equipment. This role is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and basic electrical issues, and supporting cleanroom environments in alignment with regulatory and safety standards. By ensuring equipment uptime and reliability, the Facilities Technician helps maintain Empower's commitment to delivering affordable, innovative medications in a regulated healthcare environment. Duties and Responsibilities

Performs preventive and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems, including motors, pumps, gear-driven components, and compounding equipment, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with pharmacy production standards. Identifies and uses hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to assemble, disassemble, repair, and calibrate mechanical components with precision. Interprets mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and schematics to troubleshoot issues and execute repairs across HVAC, cleanroom airflow systems, and water systems such as water for injection, pure steam, and reverse osmosis / deionized water. Applies basic electrical and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) troubleshooting techniques to resolve equipment alarms, adjust system settings, and support cross-functional maintenance efforts. Maintains clean and organized documentation of maintenance activities, parts usage, and system history in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across all facilities work. While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Knowledge and Skills

Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, cleanroom airflow, water purification equipment, and mechanical components such as pumps, motors, and gear assemblies, with the ability to read schematics and perform basic PLC troubleshooting. Proficient in using CMMS and Microsoft Office 365, with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, safety-conscious setting.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, with hands-on expertise in mechanical diagnostics, equipment repair, and preventive maintenance in a regulated environment such as pharmaceutical, food production, or healthcare. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; completion of a technical certification program or trade school in HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems is preferred. None required; trade certifications in HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems are preferred.
