The Lead Clinician provides leadership and clinical support within Legacy’s Outpatient Programs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based services. Responsibilities include intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, psychotherapy (individual, family, and group), crisis intervention, and ongoing treatment planning.
Provides clinical assessment, counseling, and psychotherapeutic services to individuals, families, and groups. Conducts evaluations, including mental status examinations and psychosocial histories, to diagnose and develop individualized treatment plans using accepted diagnostic classifications (e.g., DSM). Delivers ongoing clinical social work and/or psychotherapeutic counseling to address mental health symptoms, psychosocial stressors, and relationship challenges. Engages in clinical consultation through case discussions, treatment planning, and client-centered advocacy, collaborating with relevant individuals and entities to support therapeutic goals. All services are completed under the supervision of a qualified supervisor in compliance with New Jersey Administrative Code Title 13, Chapters 34, 34C, and 44G. Maintains contact with referring agencies and related people, and with community resources used for referral. Maintains treatment records completing documentation in a timely manner. The individual demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the consumer population served. He or she must be able to assess and interpret data about this consumer’s status in order to identify each consumer’s needs and provide the appropriate care, including age-related care, needed by the consumer group. In addition to direct service, the Lead Clinician assists program operations by supervising assigned staff and/or clinical tasks within the scope of their credentialing and experience, monitoring compliance with documentation standards, and supporting adherence to state, federal, and accreditation requirements. The Lead Clinician works closely with prescribers, directors, and administrative staff to coordinate care, maintain program flow, and ensure timely access for clients.

Full time, some evenings required:
This is a 40 hour full time benefited position which includes:

Education, Skills, & Experience:
Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a closely related field. LAC or LSW required. At least one year of post-licensure experience following award of LAC/LSW. Knowledge of diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, and regulatory standards for outpatient programs. Participation in a minimum of twelve hours of training per year; assists in staff training.
