Hyperion Technology Group, Inc . is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our team. Candidates must be self-motivated, reliable, and customer service-minded. HTG builds custom automated machinery, testing equipment, and specialized systems for a variety of industries, including but not limited to Consumer Products, Medical/Life Sciences, Industrial and Government Agencies.
Essential Duties:
Mechanical assembly of machinery from internally manufactured and purchased components according to engineering assembly drawings.
Mechanical debug during the assembly process with component fit and quality, and mechanical debug during the commissioning process for proper system performance. Deficiencies should be communicated with engineering or production to be resolved.
Pneumatic and Hydraulic plumbing and assembly.
Assist with electrical machine assembly.
Machine installation at customer location (travel estimate 10%)
Properly interpret customer-supplied documentation and drawings or seeking help in their interpretation.
Complete and maintain records of production and defects.
Maintain technical re-certification as required.
Prepare products for shipment.
Maintain inventory of commodity items common to mechanical assembly.
Maintenance of shop assembly tools and equipment.
Operate standard machining equipment (vertical mill, lathe, etc.).
Measure parts and assemblies using precision measuring equipment including but not limited to micrometers, gage blocks, and calipers.
Performs in-process and final product inspections and signs off appropriate quality documents as required.
Suggests and performs engineering tool and product modifications as directed by engineering/management.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend mechanical drawings
Knowledge of shop safety practices
Knowledge of good mechanical practices
Knowledge of material properties and how they affect processes
Ability to run basic shop tools safely
Basic computer skills
Excellent problem-solving ability
Ability to work in a team environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Good organizational and planning abilities
Required Education and Experience:
Associate's Degree in Industrial Technology, Electrical Technology, or in a related field from an accredited college, or trade school.
2-4 years' experience in electronics assembly, electro-mechanical assembly or a related work environment.
Must be able to work overtime when needed.
Physical Requirements:
Duties are performed both indoors and outdoors.
Candidate must be able to lift 25-50 pounds frequently
Duties will also require extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling and lifting light to moderately heavy objects.
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Vetting Risk Operations Center (VROC), handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations, and drug involvement.
