Job Title: Golf Course Ground Maintenance Seasonal
Department: Golf
Reports To: George Manos
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Safety Sensitive: No
Driving Status: Yes
Work Environment: This position primarily works outdoors in various weather conditions.
Summary: Working with the Golf team, performing all aspects involved with the maintenance of the golf course and grounds.
Essential Functions:
Rake and maintain sand bunkers Operation of small engine equipment (i.e., backpack blowers, string trimmers, etc.)
Use of various hand tools to complete required tasks
Leaf/debris cleanup and removal
Performs general golf course maintenance using riding mowers.
General landscape maintenance (i.e., mulching, planting flowers, trimming hedges, etc.)
Assisting in making repairs to irrigation system
Course setup (i.e., changing holes, moving tee markers, etc.)
Scouting golf course surfaces for localized dry areas and hand water as appropriate
Learn to refuel and wash equipment after each use and return it to designated location at the maintenance facility
Operates equipment safely and is aware of associates and their prospective work areas.
Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle
Physical Requirements:
Able to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time and intermittently.
Dexterity is mandatory as this job requires frequent use of hands and fingers.
Ability to reach with hands and arms, push items overhead, occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Ability to talk, hear, and see.
Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
Ability to operate small hand tools such as leaf blower, string trimmer, miscellaneous power equipment
Competencies:
Understanding the game of golf and ground maintenance
Education and Experience:
One season of previous golf experience.
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
Must be able to work the schedule as described
Must be willing to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
Must be able to work independently
Must have transportation to the golf course
