Selectek has an immediate need for a PLC Controls Engineer/Technician in the Worcester, MA area. They are open to an entry level BSEE, associate’s degree with some relevant experience, and/or non-degreed with on-the-job PLC experience.
Job Summary:
Position will require assisting machine design Developing electrical documentation Implements, tests and supports software applications for PLC platforms HMI and PLC development based on machine specification Participate in the testing process through test review/performance/analysis and certification of software Perform software maintenance on existing test fixtures Develop training manuals as needed Machine assembly: Will require assisting in the assembly of proprietary equipment with occasional travel to customer sites to assist in the install/service of our products Â
Required:
Working knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens), or BSEE, and/ or combination of education and work experience. Team player who can work effectively in team environment Self-starter who works independently with minimal direction Detail oriented Strong analytical skills and proven problem solver in both team and independent environments Computer competency
Preferred:
Graphical User Interface design/development (Allen Bradley family) Strong understanding/experience with test equipment. Strong understanding/experience mechanical assembly. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Job order details: 3 portions to this job: Design, install, troubleshoot from a Controls Engineering perspective. Will oversee assembly of the final product and occasionally installs equipment at customer site. Building control panels, electrical drawings, design wiring of panels. They are building machines "on the floor" that are going to be used by industrial clients for cutting materials. Sponsorship: No Pay range: $35/hour - $55/hour ($72,000 - $115,000 annual salary) Term of assignment: 6 months contract to hire OR Direct Hire Pay method when direct: Salary Location of job: Spencer, MA 01562 Hours and shift: Monday – Friday, 8AM – 5PM Work from home/remote: No Overtime expected: Possible Travel: Minimal, once a month for a few days to client site Work attire: Casual Does the client require a background check and drug screen?
