Purpose:

Assists in the oversight of direct care staff in the Healthy Start and Healthy Families America projects and ensures the provision of quality case management activities. Assists in providing leadership and facilitates team planning, implementation of curricula, and best practices for case managers and community health specialists, conducting home visits with parents and their young children.

Responsibilities: Provides direct supervision to direct care staff. Works with direct care staff and program leadership to ensure program goals are met. Conducts weekly and ongoing supervision to Case Managers/Community Health Workers. Guides and mentors Case Managers/Community Health Workers in ethical decision-making and the strength-based delivery of services. Participates in the weekly Local Coordinated Intake meetings for case assignments. Performs staff training and orientation. Monitors documentation - paperwork and data completion by Case Managers/Community Health Workers. Conducts record reviews. Acts as a liaison with other organizations. Monitors contracts as needed. Collaborates with the program leadership team for ongoing program development. Contributes to the identification, development, dissemination, and/or implementation of program materials/tools, training materials, community resources, curricula, reports, and resources specific to case management activities. Conducts team meetings. Provides daily support and crisis management to the team and peers. Assists in the development of grants, funding requests, appropriate documentation, and reporting documents as requested. Attends educational conferences in and out of state. Manages time, organization, and scheduling to perform job duties and responsibilities. Uses a family-centered, culturally sensitive approach to provide support and assistance to families. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in human services or fields related to working with children and families with 3 years of relevant experience Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing Ability to assist in planning, leadership, and oversight of personnel/programs; effective team management and networking skills Strong understanding of or experience in supervising diverse staff with humility, as well as providing support to staff in stressful work environments Knowledge of infant and child development and parent-child attachment Experience with family services that embraces the concepts of family-centered and strength-based service provision Knowledge of parent-infant health and dynamics of child abuse and neglect Experience in supporting culturally diverse communities/families Experience in home visiting with a strong background in early childhood prevention services Willingness to engage in building reflective practices (e.g., capacity for introspection, communicating awareness of self in relation to others, recognizing value of supervision, etc.) Experience with reflective practice preferred Time management skills with the ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work Strong keyboarding and computer skills with the ability to learn work-related software Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to work independently and exercise sound decision-making Ability to accept and work with diverse populations, culturally, economically, and educationally Ability to cope with emotional stress and be tolerant of individual lifestyles Knowledge of community resources, agencies, and/or services Knowledge of family support services and risk factors Ability to adhere to mandatory abuse reporter, confidentiality, and ethical guidelines Mandatory Reporter of Child and Dependent Adult abuse training certification (within 30 days of hire) Current Iowa driver's license and auto liability insurance Successful completion of pre-employment physical, drug screen, 2-step TB test, and background check Working Conditions:

Physical requirements: Light work, sitting most of the time, exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a small amount of force constantly to move objects Physical activities: Talking, Hearing, Repetitive Motions, Standing, Fingering, Grasping, Walking, and Visual Acuity Environment: Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential Time: Ability to be flexible with a varying schedule and programmatic requirements Travel: Required between locations
