Downstream Process Engineer
for a rapidly growing biomanufacturing organization located in
Cary, North Carolina (NC) . The
Downstream Process Engineer
will support startup and transition of downstream equipment into GMP manufacturing.
This will be an on-site position based out of Holly Springs, NC.
Responsibilities of the Downstream Process Engineer : Support startup and commissioning of downstream equipment (chromatography, UF/DF, buffer prep) Ensure equipment readiness and smooth transition into GMP manufacturing Collaborate cross-functionally to troubleshoot and optimize startup processes Execute final equipment verifications and partner with QA, Automation, and Maintenance Provide hands-on support during initial production runs and documentation Contribute to continuous improvement and coordinate with a 15-person operations team Qualifications for the Downstream Process Engineer :
5+ years of hands-on experience in downstream operations including chromatography, UF/DF, and buffer preparation Proven track record of transitioning equipment from project phase to full-scale manufacturing operations Strong understanding of GMP environments and large-scale bioprocessing systems Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize purification processes in a production setting Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering (preferred) Compensation for the Downstream Process Engineer:
Salary Range
: $125,000-$149,000/year Comprehensive Benefits
