Title: Welder

Location: Poughkeepsie, NY - SSI Aeration (4 Tucker Dr Poughkeepsie, NY 12603)

Pay: $20 - $25 per hour Based on Experience

Shift: 1st Shift, Monday - Friday (8am - 5pm)

Job Overview

Seeking an experienced Welder who is Tig/Mig and/or certified. Our growing fabrication shop manufactures equipment for wastewater treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with the required procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Welding stainless steel using various weld procedures including stick welding, MIG welding and TIG welding.
  • Set up and operate welding machines to build jobs to company specifications.
  • Read measuring equipment and interpret blueprints.
  • Create assemblies out of pipes and fittings.
  • Cut metals with laser machine.
  • Follow safety protocols.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks on machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist with fabrication and pick and pack shop as needed based on job priorities.
  • Learn and operate co-welding bot
  • Loading and unloading shipments for the factory and production facility

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ year experience in Mig or Tig Welding

Core Competencies

  • Ability to read blueprints or engineering drawings
  • Strong materials handling skills, including the ability to lift heavy objects
  • Familiarity with hand tools and basic machining techniques

Preferences

  • Proficient in basic math skills for measuring and calculating material quantities
  • Ability to assemble and disassemble machinery for cleaning and maintenance purposes
  • Experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus
  • Mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills are highly desirable

Travel & Work Arrangements

This position will be based at our site in Poughkeepsie, NY; no travel.

Pay Range

Starting Pay will range between $20.00 - $25.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time, hourly position.

The pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Ingersoll Rand, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
