Job Description: Ensure Operational Efficiency by maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems to help keep manufacturing processes running smoothly and efficiently. Enhance Safety Standards by implementing and adhering to safety protocols to protect colleagues and the facility from electrical hazards. Support Continuous Improvement through insights and feedback on electrical systems to drive manufacturing process improvements. Minimize Downtime with quick and effective repairs to reduce equipment downtime and meet production schedules. Collaborate with Teams to ensure electrical systems meet project needs. Train and Mentor by sharing expertise with junior electricians and other team members. Implement New Technologies by staying updated with electrical technologies and integrating them into the facility. Contribute to Sustainability by optimizing electrical systems for energy efficiency in line with Cummins' commitments.

Troubleshoots, assembles, installs, tests and maintains electrical systems using all necessary tools to keep equipment available and capable. Learns and understands the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment. May work independently and instruct or coach others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE): Stop work and immediately report any major injury hazards. Report any work-related injury, illness, incident or hazard. Comply with HSE standards, policies, procedures and regulations. Use appropriate personal protective equipment. Promote interdependence by looking out for one another.   • Quality: Apply high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship. Support equipment uptime and downtime failure analysis. Perform work in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and specifications using various tools, measuring and testing instruments. Provide feedback into the Preventive Maintenance system. Follow all process documentation and quality procedures. Raise issues to minimize cost and quality exposures. Perform quality inspections.
  • Delivery: Fully proficient performing troubleshooting, electrical repairs and maintenance of equipment. Conform to applicable codes and standards to maintain, install, and operate electrical systems. Instruct and coach others and act as an informal resource for team members with less capability. Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks. Perform other duties as required to meet business goals. Work with peers and support staff to identify and reduce manufacturing constraints, schedule maintenance activities around production requirements, solve problems and improve processes, and participate in continuous improvement activities. Communicate effectively with the assigned team and all support teams. Complete training and personal development in line with business requirements. Participate actively with local TPM teams to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience where allowed by regulations. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

Qualifications

  • Able to read electrical blueprints, PLC ladder logic troubleshooting. Knowledge of CNC controls.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repairs on complex equipment, sometimes with vendors through remote or on-site support.
  • Be proactive at developing a critical spares list, identifying items for MRO crib, and understanding vendor lead times including spare part obsolescence risk.
  • Support documentation updates for equipment requiring changes, redlines, etc.
  • Support design/development/utilization of automation, PLC, communication protocols (DeviceNet, Ethernet, Robotics, etc.).
  • Coordinate closely with Operations and Manufacturing Engineering to support equipment needs (repair, test, PM, etc.).
