Position Overview

Your role is vital in applying proper welding techniques and operating welding equipment. As part of our elite team, you'll interpret company-specific procedures to choose the most effective welding processes, ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards.

Job Summary

As a Welder at PRL, you will be responsible for fabricating and repairing metal and other weldable materials. You will apply the appropriate welding techniques and operate welding equipment to meet our high standards. Your role will also involve interpreting company-specific procedures to identify the most suitable welding processes.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. An associate degree or higher is .
  • Experience: More than 3 years of welding-related work.
  • Skills: Ability to follow weld procedures to repair and fabricate various metals using SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW. Ability to operate handheld grinders.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret blueprints and drawings, applying design details to ongoing projects.
  • Pass the internal weld quality test for X-ray examination using SMAW / FCAW.
  • Position, align, fit, and weld parts to assemble complete units or subunits according to blueprints and layout specifications.
  • Verify that workpieces meet specifications and are structurally sound.
  • Examine engineering drawings and blueprints to identify required materials and the sequence of tasks.
  • Operate overhead crane and forklift.
  • Perform daily maintenance on the equipment.
  • Measure products with standard measuring tools.
  • Meet all quality assurance standards.
  • Complete safety training for the welding position.
  • Maintain a tidy work area.
  • Follow all safety and operational policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical and Mental Demands

General: Requires extensive mobility, including some moderate to heavy lifting. The position occasionally involves lifting objects weighing over 50 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods, closely inspecting objects, and hearing normal sounds amid background noise. Concentration may be needed despite interruptions, with tasks lasting 45 to 60 minutes.
