Requirements Role: Lead Data Analyst Location: Onsite - 5 days/week in McLean, VA Work Type: 1099 / C2C / W2 Work Authorization: U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, H1B, H4 EAD Eligibility: Local candidates only (DC Metro Area) Position Overview: We are seeking a Lead Data Analyst to join our team in McLean, VA. The ideal candidate will have exceptional SQL expertise, strong experience in data lineage and analysis, and proven client-facing communication skills. This role requires an analytical leader who can collaborate with stakeholders, understand business needs, and deliver actionable insights with precision and clarity. Key Responsibilities: Lead data analysis initiatives, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and integrity of information. Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries to support business reporting, data validation, and analysis. Conduct data lineage assessments to track and document data flows across systems and applications. Partner with stakeholders and business users to understand requirements, translate them into data solutions, and present findings in a clear, actionable manner. Analyze EUC (End User Computing) users and their data access patterns to ensure compliance, efficiency, and security. Deliver professional and effective client presentations and status updates to senior leadership and technical teams. Mentor junior analysts and contribute to best practices in data governance and analysis. Required Skills & Qualifications: Advanced SQL expertise with demonstrated experience writing and optimizing queries on large, complex datasets. Strong knowledge of data lineage, data mapping, and data governance practices. Proven client-facing and presentation skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences. Hands-on experience analyzing EUC usage and data access patterns. Exceptional communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, onsite environment with cross-functional teams. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field; Master's preferred. Nice-to-Have Skills: Familiarity with financial services or mortgage industry data and processes. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
