Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Maternal - Newborn Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/30/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Maternal-Newborn Nurse We are seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate Maternal-Newborn Nurse to provide high-quality, family-centered care to postpartum patients and their newborns. This role involves clinical expertise in maternal and infant assessment, patient education, and support during the critical postpartum period. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care to postpartum patients and their newborns, including routine assessments, monitoring, and clinical interventions Support mother-infant bonding and breastfeeding, offering education and assistance as needed Recognize and respond promptly to signs of postpartum or neonatal complications, escalating care appropriately Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, newborn care, feeding techniques, and safe sleep practices Collaborate with physicians, lactation consultants, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in compliance with regulatory standards Promote a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for diverse families during their hospital stay Qualifications: Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required Minimum of 2 years of experience in maternal-newborn, postpartum, or related women's health nursing preferred Strong clinical assessment, teaching, and interpersonal skills Commitment to patient education and family-centered care Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401K offered.
