**$100,000 - $210,000 ** Starting salary is based on minimum education and years of experience and increases based on education and/or experience. Overview We are seeking a Systems Engineer (SE0-SE3) with hands-on experience in hardware engineering, particularly in Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). The ideal candidate will be proficient in VHDL or Verilog, ModelSim, and Xilinx tool-chains, and will support the design, simulation, and integration of digital systems. This role is part of a mission-critical program and offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of secure, high-performance embedded systems. Application Process:

possess an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with a Polygraph. Responsibilities

Design, simulate, and implement FPGA-based solutions using VHDL or Verilog.

Use ModelSim for simulation and debugging of HDL code. Develop and test FPGA firmware using Xilinx Vivado, ISE, or related tools. Collaborate with systems, software, and test engineers to integrate FPGA components into larger systems. Participate in hardware/software integration and troubleshooting across multiple platforms. Document design specifications, test plans, and verification results. Support configuration management and version control of HDL code and design artifacts. Contribute to system-level design reviews and provide technical input on hardware architecture.

Qualifications

Education & Experience: Systems Engineer Level 1

Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required and seven (7) years as a SE in program and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.

Systems Engineer Level 2

Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required and fourteen (14) years as a SE in program and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.

Systems Engineer Level 3

Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required and twenty (20) years as a SE in program and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.

Note: Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. Additional Skills & Abilities: Experience with FPGA development, including simulation, synthesis, and timing closure. Proficiency in VHDL or Verilog and simulation tools like ModelSim. Familiarity with Xilinx FPGA families and development environments. Strong understanding of digital logic design and embedded systems. Desired Skills Experience with software languages such as Java, C, C++, or Ruby on Rails. Familiarity with Unix, Linux, and Windows operating systems. Exposure to system-level design, including SoC integration and high-speed interfaces (e.g., PCIe, DDR, Ethernet). Knowledge of secure hardware design principles and cryptographic modules.
