Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse - Pediatric CVICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric CVICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Pediatric CVICU experience required. License: Current RN License Certifications: Current Basic Life Support certification, PALS certification Must-Have: Pediatric CVICU Experience

Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients. Observes physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with family and patients in sharing care plans while in the hospital and at the time of discharge. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience: Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques. Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. Basic computer skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience: N/A

Required Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher from a Board Approved Program.

Preferred Certifications & Licensure: N/A
