Child Welfare Trainer

Burleigh County Human Service Zone is seeking a Child Welfare Trainer for the Child and Family Services Team to ensure the safety, permanency and well-being of children and families in our community.

Child Welfare Trainer

duties include but are not limited to:

Provide onboarding, training, policy interpretation, and mentorship for new team members teaching through hands-on application of tasks and job responsibilities Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for new and existing team members to support agency goals, enhance performance, and maintain program objectives Provide case management expertise and case consultation to support quality service delivery and effective implementation of safety framework practices Serve as expert resource for court related activities and emergency response activities through ongoing field support, role modeling, and active assessment of case activities Handle highly complex and sensitive responsibilities requiring extensive knowledge, skills, and passion for child welfare Maintain a partial caseload of children and families providing case management services to ensure fluency in service delivery practices and procedures Maintain flexibility to support on-call or emergency response activities To succeed in this position , you should have a passion for serving others and a desire to make a positive impact. You should be highly organized and skilled in managing your time and priorities effectively. You should be team-orientated with excellent communication skills. You will also need to have a strong understanding of program policies, laws, and service practices.

To be considered for this position , you must have a bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, education, human services, child development and family science, behavioral health, applied behavior analysis, nursing (bachelor level degree) or criminal justice.

Plus,

Family Service Specialist III (SC7005):

Two (2) years of professional work experience as a social worker, child protective service worker, or professional case manager A master's degree may substitute for one (1) year of the work experience requirement Travel throughout Burleigh County is expected, and individuals may be required to work some non-traditional hours.

The successful applicant must complete Child Welfare certification.

The successful applicant must pass a standard background, motor vehicle, and criminal record check and must maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
