Overview
We are seeking a hands-on leader who can oversee general ledger accounting, intercompany transactions, AP/AR, financial statement reporting, and other items as proscribed by the company controller. In this key leadership role, you’ll oversee daily accounting activities, ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards, and mentor a team of skilled professionals. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Support budgeting and forecasting efforts, including variance analysis
- Supervise, mentor, and train accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Ensure internal controls are maintained to protect financial data integrity
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable financial insights
- Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors during audits and tax preparation
- Drive process improvements and help implement automation solutions and ERP upgrades
- Remain up to date on accounting regulations, best practices, and industry trends
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role
- Knowledge of ASC 606 and experience improving and ensuring the accuracy of revenue recognition in a fast-paced environment
- Public accounting experience required – Big 4 preferred
- CPA Required
- Experience with and committed to continual process improvement leveraging technology
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and internal controls
- Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
- ERP experience (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks Enterprise) highly preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
