We are currently seeking several Legal Secretaries to support practices such as Communications, Litigation, International Trade, Regulatory, and Public Law & Policy working under general supervision and direction of assigned attorney(s) and the Secretarial Manager.
Responsibilities
- Provide secretarial and administrative support to attorneys, advisors and other administrative personnel as assigned.
- Type and edit documents from handwritten or typed materials; prepare correspondence, memoranda, bills, timesheets and project work.
- Copy, distribute, file and handle completed work; proofread and redline for accuracy.
- Receive, screen and transmit telephone calls and messages; manage mail.
- Process new client/matter requests, client bills, time reports and expense reports.
- Set up and maintain files; coordinate conferences, meetings, and travel arrangements.
- Coordinate with office, firm and third-party service departments; provide secretarial support to visitors.
- Accept overflow work as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of five years of litigation secretarial experience supporting partner level attorneys.
- Specialized secretarial degree, associate and/or bachelor's degree desirable but not required.
- Some paralegal experience desired but not required.
- Typing speed of at least 70 words per minute with accuracy.
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Proficiency in e-Filing and all court procedures; TOCs and TOAs preparation.
- Knowledge of time records, expense reports, client bills, and conflict checks.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong grammar and punctuation.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and filing/record-keeping practices.
- Calendar management and case tracking; strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; maintain confidentiality of client and firm information.

Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated base salary range for this position in Washington, DC is $80,000 - $100,000. The actual salary offered will be based on factors including education, experience, certifications, and location. Benefits may include health insurance, 401(k), discretionary bonus, paid time off, and other benefits.
