Opportunity
The Senior Manager, Retail Marketing is responsible for leading all proprietary and external Retail Marketing efforts for the American Girl brand including integrated marketing strategy and planning, insights and business analysis, cross-functional team management, and omnichannel retail marketing execution. The Senior Manager Retail Marketing will lead campaign planning and marketing initiatives to support American Girl's sales growth across retail, with a heavy focus on retail execution. In addition, this candidate will lead American Girl's US based wholesale and specialty expansion efforts, driving growth within the largest market of the brand. The ideal candidate will have skills in strategic thinking, project management, organizational skills, excellent communication, relationship-building, and a proven ability to deliver measurable results in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. This role will also manage an Associate Marketing Manager, so mentoring, coaching and development are key requirements.
What Your Impact Will Be
Key Responsibilities:
- American Girl Proprietary Retail Channel
- Executing annual retail marketing campaigns from briefing through creative review, execution and post-mortem measurement.
- Partner closely with cross-functional partners to execute channel specific plans across key consumer touchpoints including e-mail, social, website, paid media, influencers, PR, Catalog, Loyalty, etc.
- Execute the retail merchandising vision across all sub-brands, tentpoles, promotions and holidays. Brief creative team to develop merchandising aligned with vision including placement of signage, window displays, video monitors, audio assets, etc.
- Develop special events and experiences that bring products and stories to life, deepening brand engagement and driving depth of purchase.
- Create innovative marketing campaigns grounded in robust data and present recommendations to management.
- Support outbound and inbound marketing activities in areas such as events planning, advertising, optimization, and content development.
- Lead and manage Retail Marketing budget.
- American Girl Wholesale Channels
- Manage existing wholesale customer accounts including customer pitching/presentations, omni-channel retail marketing execution and media planning.
- Lead the setup of new wholesale accounts for the American Girl business and drive day-to-day business needs.
- Identify additional wholesale opportunities to increase brand distribution and profitability.
- Key liaison with Mattel's wholesale Sales and ORM teams.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of marketing experience (6+ with MBA) in multi-channel Retail or Consumer Products industry.
- Professional experience in Retail Marketing, Shopper Marketing or brand partnerships.
- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships across cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Excellent written/verbal, time management and quantitative/analytical skills.
- Ability to independently build compelling visual marketing presentations with strong PowerPoint skills.
