The DeKalb County Health Department is seeking a

Public Health Nurse

to work part time (up to 3 days, 22.5 hours per week). Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, the Public Health Nurse provides direct patient care within various public health programs.

Responsibilities

Works in the Family Planning program, assisting in exams as well as testing and treating infections, pregnancy testing, counseling and education, assisting with birth control choices including long-acting methods. Assists with communicable disease investigations and reporting. Provides nursing professional services to various programs as needed in the Community Health and Prevention Division. Requirements

Requires current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Bilingual English/Spanish required. One year experience in health care or community services setting required. Previous experience in public health (especially in women's health) preferred. Ability to be organized, flexible, problem solve and be part of a team. Excellent communication skills and the ability to quickly establish and maintain positive relationships with the public and employees. May require some early evening hours. Compensation Package

Starting at:

Public Health RN - $29.28 per hour Public Health LPN - $23.05 per hour

Eligible for paid time off and holiday pay based on hours worked Eligible for Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Eligible for annual bilingual stipend This is an AFSCME Bargaining Unit position Schedule:
