We are seeking a highly skilled Applications Architect to lead the analysis, design, and documentation of enterprise application architectures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in application inventory analysis, architecture modeling, and system integration, with a focus on cost containment and process improvement. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure that application development aligns with enterprise architecture standards and business objectives.

Position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

Analyze the current application inventory to identify opportunities for integration, modernization, and cost savings.

Develop and maintain detailed application architecture guidelines, diagrams, and documentation, including version control and release tracking.

Ensure architectural compliance with frameworks such as TOGAF or similar enterprise architecture standards.

Collaborate with other architects, project managers, and technical leads to ensure that development efforts align with the overall system model and enterprise goals.

Design, document, and monitor application layering and component dependencies, including:

User Interface

Deployment

Public Interface

Application Domain

Application Infrastructure

Technical Frameworks and Platforms

Provide architectural oversight and guidance throughout the application lifecycle, from planning to deployment and maintenance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is desired.

Alternatively, 5+ years of equivalent experience in IT environments may be considered.

Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive application architecture analysis and provide actionable recommendations.

Proven experience maintaining architecture documentation and ensuring compliance with enterprise frameworks.

Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with enterprise architecture tools and modeling languages (e.g., ArchiMate, UML, Sparx EA, Visio).

Experience in Agile or DevSecOps environments.

Knowledge of cloud platforms and modern application deployment strategies.
