What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Provide outreach and support to families with children newly identified as Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Facilitate connections to early intervention services and offer guidance on navigating Maryland's education systems
• Maintain regular contact with families, ensuring they feel supported throughout their journey
• Record and maintain accurate data on family interactions and service referrals
• Collaborate with the Executive Director to align family support efforts with organizational goals

What is Required (Qualifications)

• Strong understanding of Deaf Culture and ability to work effectively with ASL interpreters
• Knowledge of Maryland's Early Intervention system and IEP processes
• Experience working with families of children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting with flexible scheduling

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Previous experience in outreach or support roles within the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community
• Familiarity with local resources and support networks for families
• Experience in data management and reporting
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
