Overview
ARES is hiring a Senior Cybersecurity Program Manager to support a critical Department of Defense cybersecurity program overseeing assessment and authorization support for tactical systems. This leadership position involves the management and oversight of key cybersecurity compliance functions including risk management, cybersecurity program assessments, independent security controls validation, vulnerability assessment methodology verification, software assurance, and training. This position is located in the Northern Virginia area and is contingent upon contract award with an estimated start in February 2026.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, direction, and management of a complex DoD contract with over 75 personnel.
- Manage and oversee cybersecurity compliance functions including risk management, program assessments, independent security controls validation, vulnerability assessment methodology verification, software assurance, and training.
- Lead technical services and analysis with knowledge of cybersecurity standards, principles, practices, and processes.
- Support key cybersecurity activities including vulnerability assessments, control development, security plan documentation, penetration testing, and RMF implementation.
- Conduct independent analyses and validation of processes and procedures.
- Manage financials, including cost estimation, budgeting, and reporting.
- Understand federal government contracting, logistics, travel, and risk management.
- Think strategically to address issues and implement plans for major operational defense programs.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of experience managing programs in a DoD environment, preferably the Department of the Navy or Missile Defense Agency.
- Top Secret clearance.
