: Monday - Friday 7a - 3:30p or 10 hour days on a per diem basis

The role you'll contribute:
Performs a wide variety of professional nursing care activities, multitask and accommodates services for the physicians and the practice, following established standards, practices, policies and procedures. Candidate must have demonstrated knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care to age specific groups identified in the direct care responsibilities , utilizing the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating) in achieving the goals of the department. The RN adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
The value you'll bring to the team:
Create individualized care plans for patients under their supervision and care.
Triage and treat cancer-related issues.
Input chemo treatment orders per the ordering physician
Coordinate chemo treatment start and stop appointments with infusion center
Coordinate various aspects of oncologic patient care
Coordinating Direct Admission, Blood Transfusions, Iron Infusion
Follow patient adherence to oral chemo medications & all medications ordered by physician
Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledge.
Research new treatments & protocols assigned to cancer patients to stay up-to-date
Give supportive resources/education to the patient and family members on treatment & side effects
Teach patients and the families regarding treatment expectations.
Watch and record the patients progress on a consistent basis.
Chart the patients response to treatment and medication.
Access ports (port flush & blood draw).
Complete all orders per the ordering physician
Complete patient forms such as FMLA/Disability/Letters of medical necessity etc.
Complete prior authorizations for medications, appeals/peer to peers/letters of medical necessity
Assist benefits team in obtaining authorizations for chemotherapy and infusion related treatments
Facilitation of communication by answering voicemails, emails, texts, Microsoft Teams
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications
:
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing Required
FL RN license
1 of professional nursing experience
Port Flush experience
BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
Preferred qualifications:
Oncology experience Preferred
Physician office experience Preferred
OCN - Oncology Nurse Certification Preferred
