Job Summary:
The Facilities Engineer IV is responsible for managing multi-year equipment upgrade plans, overseeing facilities engineering projects, and maintaining plant support systems. This role includes developing preventative maintenance programs, managing control systems, coordinating with external vendors, and supporting plant safety and compliance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and manage multi-year equipment upgrade/replacement plans.
• Manage facilities engineering projects from planning to execution.
• Develop and oversee preventative maintenance programs for HVAC, chillers, compressed air systems, plumbing, power distribution, exhaust fans, roll-up doors, etc.
• Maintain and upgrade control systems for chilled water, water filtration, compound delivery, silos, and building automation systems (BAS).
• Support maintenance activities on plant processing equipment.
• Coordinate and manage external vendors and contractors for facility services.
• Establish project plans including scope, schedule, cost estimates, and acceptance criteria.
• Monitor and troubleshoot alarms for plant support systems.
• Provide project management and coordination for key facilities initiatives.
• Evaluate and justify project proposals.
• Prepare and route appropriation requests.
• Provide regular project updates to plant personnel and staff.
• Support plant safety and environmental programs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal company policies.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities-related project management and building maintenance.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in controls-related programming and troubleshooting.
• BS Degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and/or Inventor.
• Willingness to learn new systems including raw materials, pollution abatement, HVAC, compressed air, chilled water, and BAS.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Professional Engineering Registration or PMI certification.
• CFM or FMA certifications.
• LEED Accredited Professional designation.
Certifications:
• Professional certifications such as PE, PMI, CFM, FMA, or LEED AP are preferred but not mandatory.
