Position Description
Warehouse Specialist will join the WH operations team and support system level detailed design, creation of standard operating processes, material handling and automated storage equipment commissioning (ASRS/AGV) and qualification activities, commercial product validation and ultimately be responsible for the physical handling of material through the receiving processes, storage, campus wide material movement, and product shipment. In addition to providing daily operational support, the Warehouse Specialist will also provide technical and operational leadership in day-to-day operations.
Key Objectives / Deliverables
- Support site start-up and provide subject matter expertise in warehouse operations.
- Provide coaching and direction for employees in areas of responsibility.
- Assign daily and weekly work schedules to departmental employees.
- Unloading / loading of material at docks, receiving of material, interfacing with the automated material storage and retrieval system, preparation of materials for shipment, transacting within electronic warehouse management system, supporting cycle counting efforts.
- Follow all safety requirements and procedures and routinely inspect area for health and safety issues. Assist with implementation of counter measures from safety incident investigations. Work with Leader and safety representatives to implement safety projects.
- Follow all GMP, and other regulatory requirements. Participate in quality initiatives and audits. Provide leadership for compliance to FDA, OSHA, EPA regulations.
- Identify and implement performance improvements.
- Drive accountability for results.
- Actively support training efforts in the area.
- Create, follow, and execute policies and procedures impacting warehouse activities.
- Understand and use the transportation management system.
Requirements (Education, Experience, Training)
- Previous demonstration leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Solid understanding of quality and corporate policies
- Solid understanding of the importance of and basic requirements of regulatory agencies such as the FDA, OSHA, and EPA
- Demonstrate solid judgement and initiative
- Enthusiastic, positive attitude, flexible and willing to work overtime
- Certified to operate all types of powered industrial trucks
- Ability to pick-up / move 40-pound containers
- Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, working safely and accountable for supporting all HSE corporate and site goals
- Minimum 3+ years of previous warehouse/logistics experience in a GMP environment
- SAP/EWM experience a plus
- DOT / IATA certification a plus
- Comfortable with interfacing with automated systems
Preferred attributes
- Associate or bachelor’s degree a plus

Compensation
Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is $25.60 - $42.67. Full-time employees are eligible for a company bonus (dependent on company and individual performance). Lilly offers a comprehensive benefits program including 401(k), pension, vacation, medical/dental/vision and prescription drug benefits, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, time off and leave benefits, and well-being programs.
