Description

The Assisted Living Facility Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Caregiver provides compassionate care and support to residents, promoting their independence, dignity, and overall well-being. This position requires a caring and patient individual who is dedicated to meeting the needs of residents and ensuring a safe, comfortable living environment.

Schedule: Full-Time, Weekends, Nights, 8 hour shifts

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide medication reminders and assistance with medication administration as needed. Monitor and report changes in residents' conditions, such as vital signs, physical and cognitive functioning, and overall health status. Collaborate with the healthcare team, including nurses, therapists, and physicians, to develop and implement individualized care plans for residents. Engage residents in social, recreational, and therapeutic activities, promoting their mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents by performing light housekeeping tasks, laundry, and ensuring proper maintenance of resident living spaces. Prepare and serve meals, adhering to dietary restrictions and individual preferences. Escort residents to appointments, activities, and social events within and outside the facility as needed. Build positive relationships with residents, family members, and other staff, fostering a supportive and inclusive community. Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills. Perform all other duties assigned by the Assisted Living Facility Supervisor. Requirements

Job Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Food Handler's required. Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or home health aide (HHA) training program is a plus. 1 year of experience working with older adults or individuals with disabilities in a healthcare or assisted living setting is required. Knowledge of basic caregiving principles, including infection control, safety procedures, and emergency protocols. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish positive relationships with residents, family members, and staff. Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to help others. Physical ability to perform essential job functions, including lifting, transferring, and assisting residents with mobility. Ability to maintain resident confidentiality and adhere to all applicable regulations and facility policies. Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire. Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and transfer patients, with or without assistance, up to 50lbs. Capability to perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, walking, and climbing stairs for extended periods. Visual acuity and dexterity for performing tasks such as reading medical records, administering injections, and handling therapeutic tools. Ability to respond swiftly and efficiently to emergency situations. Capacity to work in various home environments which may include navigating stairs, tight spaces, or uneven surfaces. Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by the department supervisor/manager. Job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high-stress situations. The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without "giving out" or fatiguing.

Salary Description

$16-$19 Per Hour
