CDL Delivery Driver role at Gypsum Management and Supply (GMS).

For CDL applicants, this position references the headquarters location and legal entity: Tamarack Materials, Inc., 9300 James Ave S, Bloomington, MN 55431. GMS is a leading North American distributor of gypsum wallboard, acoustical ceiling products, and other specialty building materials.

Position Summary

The primary function of a delivery driver is to safely and efficiently operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with company policies and Federal and State regulations, delivering all freight undamaged. Work as a team player to deliver, load/unload materials while providing a world-class customer service experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Inspect truck/trailer for defects for safe operation.
• Safely load building materials onto flatbed or boom truck and unload products at commercial and residential job sites.
• Deliver materials to the assigned area as directed by the customer, prioritizing personal safety and the safety of those around you.
• Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations.
• Must report all accidents involving driver or company equipment.
• Stamina to lift heavy building materials up to 100+ lbs. for load/unload.
• Excellent customer service skills and professional attitude.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
• Minimum Class B License; Class A strongly preferred.
• Clear three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
• Overall knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position while driving a commercial vehicle 40% of the time.
• Must be able to lift heavy building materials up to 80 lbs. for loading/unloading.
• Frequently move materials weighing up to 80 lbs. while unloading.
• Constantly move from unloading materials from the vehicle to the job site.
• Operate a commercial motor vehicle and/or boom vehicle.
• Position self to unload materials from flatbed or boom.
• Judge distance while delivering materials and/or operating a boom.
• Communicate with management and coworkers and exchange accurate information.
• Work in an outdoor environment while making deliveries.
