Starlinks Growth Business Operations team combines traditional planning and analysis with broader business decision-making and strategy, directly supporting SpaceXs leadership. Growth Business Operations is embedded in daily operations, supporting both near-term execution and long-term planning. Team members are expected to analyze data and provide recommendations and to lead cross-functional decision-making and implementation of the recommendations. Starlink Growth Business Operations is lean and dynamic, comprised of three subgroups: S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning), Customer Retention, and Analytics. We encourage rotation across subgroups for high performers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor, analyze, provide strategic insights, execute, and improve vs. key performance indicators for the business (especially active subscribers, churn, sales, production, inventory, produce-to-activate, net promotor score, customer lifetime value, cost per unit, revenue, cost of sales, operating expenses, and capex)
Identify initiatives for improvement of SpaceXs business outlook, including developing, tracking, and executing business initiatives with SpaceXs leadership
Define a nd develop program -level metrics and associated dashboards that quantify the health of our global operation / customer experience and influence change
Engage SpaceX leadership with quantitative and qualitative updates on performance and opportunities
S&OP:
Convert hardware into active, happy, paying customers through S&OP ownership of hardware product(s)
Facilitate modeling and decision-making for product development trades and product ramp/sunset plans, working with growth, sales, design , engineering, operations, logistics , finance, tax, legal, etc.
Guide planning and resource management (e.g., activations, sales, production, supply, inventory, etc.) for specific verticals within Starlink, including development of growth forecasts
Enable and accelerate go to market execution for products post licensing and certification
CUSTOMER RETENTION:
Lead new customer retention initiatives, product and feature rollouts, and larger cross-functional strategic initiatives (e.g., global installer network)
Develop predictive modeling and analyses that identify issues and opportunities impacting customer retention an d behavior, lead scoping, and manage implementation of changes (e.g., outreach campaigns and automation)
Collaborate effectively across many departments, including n etwork e ngineering , f inance, l egal, p roduction, s upply c hain, c ustomer o ps, and r eliability to ensure data integrity and accurate reporting of cancellations and suspensions
Document and train internal users and leaders on customer retention dashboard and tool usage , assist in troubleshooting
ANALYTICS:
Perform rigorous analyses on large, complex data sets and provide strategic insights, hypotheses, and conclusions based upon findings to leaders at all levels
Work with business and engineering teams to drive the development of Starlink's data, reporting, and analytics platforms
Build, maintain , and improve data models, forecast models, dashboards, and data pipelines
Create clean, reliable, and scalable "single-source-of-truth" data sets by partnering with data quality and application engineering teams to address data issues in upstream systems and document data lineage, business logic, and KPI definitions
Partner with business analysts to help automate manual workflows and train them in tools and skills to become self-sufficient as needed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, data science, physics, or other quantitative field
1+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, product management, operations, FP&A, consulting, banking, or entrepreneurship
1+ years of experience in Excel or programming
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Evidence of exceptional ability, especially within an ambiguous environment
Quantitative dual degree in engineering field and economics or business field and/or equivalent professional experience
Ability to read and interpret income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
Demonstrated success driving tangible impact/influencing within a broader organization
Excellent analytical skills (e.g. Python, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Power Query, Microsoft Office applications, Excel modeling, or similar data manipulation tools etc.)
Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly with senior business leaders
Extreme sense of urgency and ownership
Bias toward action and automation1Strong interpersonal skills (examples: leading a student organization or working successfully in teams)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Ability to work cross-functionally with different groups and teams

ADDITIONAL REQUIRMENTS:
Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed
Willingness to travel to customer sites, other SpaceX locations, and events as needed
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Business Operations Analyst/Level I: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00/per year
Business Operations Analyst/Level II: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
