YMCA Reads Volunteer Mentor

Become a mentor and give a child the courage to read the world! By volunteering two hours a week, you can teach a child to read. As a YMCA READS mentor, you will work in a small group environment or one- on-one with a kindergarten to fourth-grade student, developing positive self-esteem and helping students improve their academic performance. Be a child’s tutor and friend and give them the keys to a brighter future. No experience is necessary. How can I help? . . . become a Mentor and make a difference! Training and ongoing support are provided by YMCA Reads staff. Student volunteers over 18 years old can earn community service hours while gaining valuable experience working with children in an educational setting. Volunteers can enhance an interest while providing a critical service to the community. 2 shifts available: 13:30 to 15:30 CST 14:30 to 16:30 CST
