Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance processes within our manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The Quality Assurance Manager will play a critical role in maintaining high-quality products and services by implementing effective quality management systems and leading quality audits.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and DoD-specific standards

Lead internal and external audits, including customer audits

Ensure compliance with MIL-STD, DFARS, and other defense-related quality requirements

Oversee inspection processes for incoming materials, in-process production, and final product release

Manage and mentor QA inspectors, engineers, and document control personnel

Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Program Management to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement

Analyze non-conformances, lead root cause investigations, and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)

Maintain and report on key quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, audit findings, supplier performance)

Interface with government quality representatives and prime contractors to ensure alignment on quality expectations

Support proposal efforts and contract reviews with quality input and risk assessments

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field (Master’s preferred)

Minimum 7–10 years of experience in quality assurance within defense or aerospace manufacturing

Deep knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-810, and ITAR compliance

Proven leadership in managing cross-functional teams and quality programs

Experience with MRP/ERP systems, SPC, and Lean Six Sigma methodologies

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance

Preferred Skills

Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE)

Familiarity with GD&T, FAI, and PPAP processes

Experience with electromechanical systems, precision machining, or composite materials

Prior engagement with DoD prime contractors or government quality assurance representatives
